Xakanaxa Camp, Botswana
Xakanaxa Camp offers accommodation in 12 Meru style luxury safari tents. These are built on elevated wooden platforms with en suite bathrooms including a shower, flush toilet and washbasin. At the front of each tent is a patio that overlooks the waterways. Within the camp is a private 8-bedded unit with its own lounge, sala, dining room and pool, which may be requested for groups. The thatched dining room and bar overlook Xakanaxa Lagoon. Xakanaxa offers both vehicle and power boating excursions as well as short mokoro trips. The heronries at Godikwe and Xobega Lagoons are a 1-hour boat trip away, and game drives into the Moremi Game Reserve offer excellent views of some of the Okavango specials including Red Lechwe and Tsessebe. Large herds of Elephant are also sometimes seen in the area. Here guests might see one of the Okavangos endemic bird species, the Slaty Egret. |
