This itinerary encompasses the very best of Zambia, commencing in the town of Livingstone, giving one time to enjoy the famous Victoria Falls and surrounds; before moving to the Lower Zambezi National Park to experience the beauty and splendor of the mighty Zambezi River and the game along its shoreline; and ending in the famous South Luangwa National Park, for an extravaganza of wildlife.

Day 1 – 3.You will arrive at Livingstone airport and be met by a representative from Tongabezi Lodge who will drive you through town to the lodge, which is situated on the edge of the Upper Zambezi River. Two full days will be spent here, giving you time to enjoy all the activities on offer at the lodge. Ask about the famous Livingstone Island lunches brunches or high teas. This island is situated on the very edge of the Falls.

Tongabezi Lodge is a small secluded lodge, upstream from Victoria Falls, set in a tranquil grove of African Ebony trees on a sweeping bend of the Zambezi River. Accommodation is in five luxury cottages and in five spacious open-planned thatched houses. All rooms have magnificent views of the river and a private verandah. Dinner is a hosted “occasion” or room service. For a little extra luxury upgrade to one of the unique houses, each individually named with distinct architectural features, four-poster oversized beds with unique and large airy mosquito canopies, ensuite bathrooms, flush toilets with views, and running hot and cold water.

For a very intimate romantic holiday request Sindabezi Island, a tiny paradise island not far from Tongabezi Lodge (close to the Victoria Falls). Four thatched chalets each with spectacular views over the Zambezi accommodate eight guests. All have cold running water, hot bucket showers and flush toilets. The island is fully staffed and a qualified guide hosts guests and is available for boat trips or canoeing. There is great food and no electricity – only lamps and candles.

Day 3. You will be taken back to Livingstone airport for your air charter, via Lusaka, to the Lower
Zambezi National Park. A guide from Sausage Tree Camp will meet you and either drive you
through the park to the camp, or he will organise an exiting boat ride into camp.

Day 3 – 6. You will spend the next three nights in this tranquil destination, exploring the park
on foot, by vehicle, or enjoy the scenes and wildlife from the river in a boat or a canoe.

Sausage Tree Camp is situated on the banks of the mighty lower Zambezi River under a grove of giant riverine trees. It is an exotic twelve bedded camp with six large bedouine style tents, each with comfortable beds under mosquito net, and an open air ensuite with shower, flush toilet and hot and cold running water. The camp offers excellent food and service and includes all the activities and beverages, including wines. This area is teeming with game, bird and water life and you will be guided through your game and water activities by professional guides and scouts. This is untamed Africa at its very best!

Day 6. Today you will be transferred back to the airstrip for your air charter to Mfuwe airport, via Lusaka. On arriving in Mfuwe, the gateway to the South Luangwa National Park, you will be met by your guide and transferred to one of the Bushcamp Company Camp’s.

Day 6 – 10 Bushcamp Company operates four intimate and exclusive camps, situated within the South Luangwa Park. Each of the four camps accommodates only six guests and offers a range of activities from regional walks, to day and night game drives. One of the more unusual activities on offer is the traditional walking safari, whereby the luggage is driven ahead and you walk with a professional guide to camp. Three of the camps are within ten kilometres of each other, and if you so wished you could participate in two nights in two different camps, walking between them and really participating in an African walking safari. All the camps are slightly different in location and design but they combine large walk in units with two ¾ beds, and ensuite shower and toilet facilities. These camps truly offer great hospitality and spectacular opportunities to explore this magnificent wildlife sanctuary. During your stay we recommend that you experience two of the camps so that you can enjoy different areas of the park. Phil Berry, one of the best known characters of the Lower Zambezi managers and guides at Kuyenda Camp.

Day 10. Today is quite a long travelling day as you will be driven back to Mfuwe airport for your connecting air charter to Lusaka to meet with your onward flight connection to Livingstone and from Livingstone to connect with your regional flight connections to Johannesburg.
