Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 & 2: Thorntree River Lodge, Livingstone, Zambia

Upon guests arrival into Livingstone Airport, they will be met and transferred to Thorntree River Lodge where they will stay for 2 nights.
Situated on the Zambian bank of the Zambezi River, within the renowned Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park and just 15 kilometres upstream from the spectacular Victoria Falls lies the secluded Thorntree River Lodge.

With 6 twin rooms and 2 honeymoon suites, Thorntree River Lodge offers its guests a unique and personal African experience all year round. Each accommodation unit has its own en-suite facilities and all are beautifully appointed. The lodge blends naturally into the riverine vegetation and commands superb river views from its main deck and private verandas.
Thorntree River Lodge's riverside location and its unique position within the National Park allows for a wide choice of activities, including sunset cruises, game-drives, cultural tours, fishing and of course visits to the Falls themselves.

Day 3 & 4: Elephant Valley Lodge, Chobe Forest Reserve

Following breakfast, the guests will be transferred by road and boat to Elephant Valley Lodge in Chobe (approximately 2 hour transfer), where they will stay for 2 nights.

Elephant Valley Lodge lies hidden in the bordering valley between Botswana and Zimbabwe, only a few kilometres outside Kasane. The Lodge is situated in the Lesoma Valley which lies in the heart of the Kasane Forest Reserve. The reserve is adjacent to the Chobe National Park.

The lodge offers 20 Meru-style safari tents, all with their private ensuite bathrooms. The public areas consist of a bar and a dining room as well as a beautiful terrace towards the waterhole.
Activities include game drives into Chobe National Park, boat cruises on the Chobe river and night drives in the Chobe Forest Reserve. A large waterhole in front of the lodge guarantees for regular visits of herds of Elephants.

Day 5 & 6: Camp Okuti, Moremi Game Reserve

Following the morning activity (time permitting), guests will be transferred to Kasane airport for their onward air transfer to the Xakanaxa Airstrip in Moremi, followed by a road transfer / game drive en route to Camp Okuti.

The Camp is located alongside the Maunachira River, as it flows into the Xakanaxa Lagoon in the heart of the Okavango delta, within the Moremi Wildlife Reserve

Camp Okuti can accommodate a maximum of eighteen guests and the chalets are rustic, insect-proof thatched, with en-suite bathrooms. Featuring a stunning partially open dining area. Camp Okuti is also extremely family friendly and boasts a family room that accommodates 4 people easily.

Activities offered are game drives in open safari vehicles exploring the diverse range of habitats within the reserve from open floodplains to belts of mopane woodland. Guests can also venture out onto the open waters of the Okavango by motorboat, visiting the Xakanaxa Lagoon and beyond up to the seasonal heronry at Gadikwe. Moremi Game Reserve offers some of the most spectacular game viewing in Botswana and guests may encounter breeding herds of elephant, a hunting lioness or a sleeping pride of lion, grazing impalas and kudus and much more.

Day 7 & 8: Pom Pom Camp, Okavango Delta

After an early morning activity and breakfast, guests will be transferred to Pom Pom Camp by light aircraft, where they will stay for 2 nights.

Pom Pom is located in the heart of the Okavango Delta in a private concession to the west of the Moremi Game Reserve. The camp offers 9 traditional Meru safari tents, built and designed in the style of safari camps of old. The large walk-in tents have en suite showers and flush toilets. The bathrooms are enclosed, but roofless - for a true bush experience.
The camp has been recently renovated and offers a beautiful dining room and bar around the picturesque lagoon. Pom Pom Camp also has a nicely sized plunge pool to help guests escape the midday heat. Pom Pom offers game drives, night drives, walking safaris and mokoro excursions.
All the big predators, and Buffalo, Giraffe, Zebra, Wildebeest can be seen. If you are lucky, some of the nocturnal animals such as Serval, Civet and Genet may be seen on night drives. Hippo and Crocodile are found in the deeper lagoons in the area. Birding enthusiasts will enjoy sighting Pells Fishing Owl, African Fish Eagle, Giant Eagle Owl and White Backed Vultures.

Day 9 & 10: Meno-A-Kwena Tented Camp, Makgadikgadi/Boteti

Following the morning activity, the guests will be transferred to Maun by air and onward to Meno-A-Kwena by road (approximately 1.5 hours drive from Maun).

Meno A Kwena is on the border with Makgadikgadi National Park not far from Nxai Pan National Park. The Camp is situated on tribal land and has kept the local name of the area, which translates as teeth of the crocodile. The camp has been built on a cliff edge overlooking the dry riverbed of the Boteti River, which last flowed in 1995

This fully serviced authentic African safari camp maintains an atmosphere of the original safari experience. It is not a bush hotel with all the modern luxuries of the developed world. The camp consists of safari tents and equipment from the owners former mobile safari days, combined with permanent fixtures, built by local craftspeople, with locally collected materials. There are, of course, the luxuries of flush toilets and a natural Boteti rock pool to wallow in on hot summer days.
Each of the seven fully serviced safari tents with semi-attached bathrooms, including a bucket shower and flush toilet, are set on the edge of the riverbank. A hundred feet below camp is the waterhole that attracts thousands of animals during the dry season. A lot of emphasis is placed on the theatre view from camp. No matter where guests are they may watch the scenes played out, whether from the plunge pool, their tents, the verandahs, or the bathrooms.
Activities at Meno A Kwena include game drives, nature walks, game viewing from the hide and cultural activities with a local community. Safari drives vary from short trips to the nearby Ngandi Community Trust area to full-day safaris with a picnic into the Makgadikgadi & Nxai Pan National Park depending on game movements. Meno A Kwenas relaxed atmosphere makes for a very relaxing stay after the hectic round of activities at many camps.

Day 11: Safari Ends in Maun

Following the morning activity, the guests will be transferred to Maun by road, for their onward travel arrangements.
